Pantry Recall Watch Privacy Notes

Pantry Recall Watch does not require an account in the current release and does not sell personal data.

Data Collected

Food, drug, or device product names, brands, lot/date/model details when entered, household/care-setting checklist state, and local on-device pantry checklist items.

Use Of Data

CPSC recall and openFDA food, drug, and device enforcement search, local on-device pantry checklist workflow, and care-setting reminder display.

Search terms may be sent to the configured backend and to public-data providers needed to answer the request. Durable saved items, accounts, sync, alerts, and subscriptions are not part of this release unless the product-specific notes above explicitly say otherwise.

Retention And Deletion

Search requests are used to return public-data results. Saved pantry items, active tab, and search text are stored locally on the device for checklist continuity. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app removes this local state. If accounts or cloud sync are added later, this policy must be updated with account deletion instructions before release.

Sharing, Sale, And Tracking

This release does not sell data, does not include third-party advertising, and does not include cross-app tracking. If analytics, crash reporting, purchases, accounts, push notifications, or cloud storage are added later, update this policy and store privacy labels before submission.

Security

Network requests should be made over HTTPS to the deployed backend and public-data sources. Do not put secret API keys in Expo public environment variables.

Public-data caveat: government and regulatory datasets can be incomplete, delayed, or revised. The app should be treated as a source-linked screening tool, not a guarantee or professional determination.
